Brian Comer (DCHS class of 2001)
is currently going through chemo treatments. Here is his story and the link to
his caring bridge site where you can make comments and see updates from Brian’s
journal:
“While I was initially diagnosed with diverticulitis, a CT scan started to show a different story. I was admitted to the hospital for observation and more tests. A restriction in my sigmoid colon started to show up on the x-rays and a mass was around it. While diverticulitis was still an option, tumors started to come into play. I had surgery in mid-March to remove the mass and a portion of my colon. While I was in recovery I was told it was a tumor, and the pathology report confirmed that I have Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Everything was removed during surgery. I have 12 treatments of chemo starting mid-April. They are every other week for 6 months. I was in good health and was training for the 1/2 marathon. I'm only 29.” http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/briancomer.
